Siemens TIA Portal SCL Course

Siemens TIA Portal SCL course is dedicated to the use of the higher programming language with Siemens' abbreviation SCL (Structured Control Language). Upon completing the course, the participants will be able to use the SCL higher programming language to write more complex algorithms for data processing and the development of more complex mathematical operations.

At the course, students get acquainted with the TIA Portal environment and with the hardware at which they perform practical exercises. In the TIA Portal environment, they learn to create SCL program blocks. In simple cases, they learn to use the text editor to create the SCL program. Students compare each other with solutions to simple problems with different programming modes.

They use control sentences, such as conditional sentence FOR, conditional loops WHILE and REPEAT, choice sentence, etc. in practical cases.

A special section is dedicated to processing complex data types ARRAY, STRUCT and PLC

Numerous practical cases, exercises and concise passing of the teaching subject matter, ensures satisfaction at the end of the course. A classical approach with using STL set of commands is not possible with S7-1200 series, while in S7-1500 series, STL is an emulation of STL from S7-300/400 series. This shows that the transition from the STL set of commands to SCL higher programming language is inevitable. You can make this transition much easier by attending the TIA Portal SCL course.
