Siemens TIA PRO 3 Course

Siemens TIA Portal PRO 3 course is an advanced level of TIA Portal PRO 2. Upon completing the course, participants will be able to build control logic for more comprehensive and functionally more demanding processes by using composite data types and will be able to carry out more in-depth diagnostics.

The participants get acquainted with differences between the architecture, built in S7-300 in S7-400 series, and the architecture built in S7-1200 in S7-1500 series. They use an optimised program block on a practical case and use multi instance mode for FB block instancing. They create a new type V0.1 in the TIA Portal library, use it on a practical case and later update it to V0.2.

The participants learn to use composite data types, such as Array, DATE_AND_TIME, AT-View, DTL, STRING, STRUCT, PLC Data Types, Variant Pointer, and DB_ANY, and use Slice access, enabling simple interventions in a large data type section. By using Slice access addressing, we can easily trigger bits in Dword data type, used for transferring alarms to HMI.

A whole special chapter is dedicated to the SCL higher programming language. It is still possible to use the STL commands in S7-1500 series, but the commands aren't elementary anymore. In addition, al registers, such as Accu1, Accu2, AR1, AR2, etc. are emulated, since the S7-1500 series uses completely different architecture than the 300/400 series. The future of complex mathematical and data processing development is based on SCL programming language, where the compiler and editor are an integral part of TIA Portal. It is possible to use it in both series, namely 1200 and 1500.

The participants get to know the mechanism of formulas and alarms in great detail.

They learn to establish communication between controllers. They use the Profinet mode for a smaller quantity of data exchange in real time, and TCP/IP mode for a larger quantity of data exchange.

The participants use technological functions built in the TIA Portal in practical case. The use PID-regulator on an example of temperature and tension regulation, respectively. They operate step motor by using Motion Control functions.

In the last part of the course, the participants are acquainted with safe machines planning by using safety controllers and safety functions built into the TIA Portal.

Upon completing TIA PRO1, TIA PRO2, and TIA PRO3 courses, with 120 hours of training under the professional guidelines, the participants are ready to tackle the challenges in an industrial environment.
